Third Form - Brand Spotlight
Here at The Edition, we pour our hearts into finding brands that represent our values: exposing elevated, fashion forward womenswear to the Savannah market. Based out of Australia, Third Form is a contemporary label offering refined and feminine looks for the urban consumer. Minimalism is at the center of all Third Form designs and inspired by successful women who travel the world and work in big cities.
Merryn Kelly completed her studies at Sydney Tafe Fashion Design Studio, and began her career working in prominent Australian labels such as Zimmermann and Lee Jeans. After her stent working for others, Kelly sought something different.
Kelly drew from her values of challenging the status quo and the thrill of working life in a big city. She launched her first collection in 2014, and since the birth of Third Form, IT-girls like Margaret Zang have clung to the brand for inspiration and perfect staple wardrobe pieces. Vogue Australia even labelled Third Form a “cult following”.
Since the launch of Third Form in 2014, Kelly’s strong vision of a minimal, but feminine, fashion label caught the eye of industry judging panels. She became a finalist for the VAMFF National Designer Award presented by David Jones and supported by Harper’s Bazaar. She recently became a member of the Australian Fashion Chamber in 2017.
Third Form has found a way to blur the lines between work and play. There are styles available for any event and are open to interpretation by the wearer. The aesthetic of Third Form is known for creating unique textures and structures. Third Form is never afraid to challenge the modern wardrobe. The versatility each piece offers can be attributed through fabric selection and technical shapes. The structured hardware and cut of each piece adds strength and appeal, but with a deep femininity and it-girl cool.
